The slightly above to slightly below freezing temperatures were considered "warm" for that time of year, so I guess my family picked the right time. It was my first winter in Alberta, Canada and I loved every minute of it. I visited family, built my first snowman, skated on a frozen lake, and had poutine for the first time (it was amazing). I've never seen a pair of skis in my life, but I caught on quick and went on some of the bigger hills. My aunt took us tobogganing for the first time too. Going down was fun, but climbing back up was a bit of a workout.
